MSD wires arcing

been noticing a decrease in fuel mileage. i checked the plug gap and it was off so i adjusted that. i have MSD wires with looms. other night i noticed one of the looms was really close to the metal brake line. i noticed there was arcing from the screw in the loom to the metal line. is this normal for MSD wires or are they just shot?

MSD's are junk...they fry easily, but they gave me a whole 1 horsepower more than the taylors i use now. i would go taylors...screw the one hp and save yourself some money while you are at it.

are taylor wires like MSD's where u gotta assemble 'em urself? i just want a basic not too expensive set. also somethin that comes ready to be put on. but only with 90* boots. since i have headers the straight boots wont work. anyone know where i can get 'em? thanks. i tried Bosch from AZ but they come with straight boots too.

O'Reilly's used to carry Taylors, and can still special order them if they don't have what you want. Or save some bucks and get them from Summit. I've always gotten the ones you cut to length and add the plug boots to so you can tailor them to your routing preferences. That's usually pretty important with headers (at least in my opinion).

Any wire will become "junk" if you dont take the time to install em right, especially with headers. I use self vulcanizing tape on both ends, along with dialectric grease. Keep em out of metal looms, and use the heat proof "socks" on the header ends. BTW, NHRA top fuel cars use the MSD 8.5s!

I think you're making a mistake, the headers make a noticeable difference it the car's responsiveness and "feel". Helps gas mileage, too.

But if you insist on selling them, how much ya want for them?
