cruise control troubleshooting...
Hey guys. '88 IROC LB9 305 T-5. Cruise control doesn't work. I've tried swapping computers (was trying to rule out other problems) and now I've got everything 100% on this car, except the cruise control doesn't work. Where should I look now? The stick on the steering column looks brand new, no loose wires and all connections seem good. Is there a module or relay I can try and swap under the hood? I'd like to get it working...
Thanks for any help.

Check the brake switch.
The control is built into the cruise servo itself.

also is your a/c vents working (if you have a/c) I found that their is a vacumm source that is on the manafold and if it is not hoocked up and or pluged up it would casue your air to come out of the defroster vents and the Cruise to stop working.

yeah I have a similar problem with a 92 lumina...it has several vacuum leaks and my cruise barely works...struggles to hold speed....I dont know if your having the same problem as far as vacuum leaks but its always and option to check out
I would fix all the problems on the lumina but with 179,000 miles on it....i just keep it running...but i still have a/c.....just doesnt blow out strong....damn vacuum leaks

either did i until i found that i had a misterious vacume source i took some time and checked all my vacume lines, and replaced everything that was needed, and placed all the lose vacumlines back on where the should be at via the vac diagrams in the engine compartment.

yeah its a bitch when you got a minor vacuum leak or multiples...just by some vaccuum line...and a good diagram of the vaccuum lines..(im sure someone on there has one) youll be surprised when you find a line dangling somewhere and think to urself...where the heck does this go...lol
