Still trying to work out the kinks, need suggestions

Well im sure alot of you have read and replied to my post before on this. I just swapped from TBI to Carb on my 91 along with ported 081 heads bigger cam and edelbrock intake. It was giving me some problems, at a dead stop when i just mash the throttle it would try to stall. I check the floats and they were way way off. The manual suggested to set them at about 1 inch from the air horn gasket, well they were probably double that so i fixed that. It runs alot better now, though there is still just a little problem. i took it around a turn today and was gonna stomp it for 2 reasons, one was to see if it was gonna try to cut out and 2 just to see if it was gonna respond the way it should, but it started sputtering real bad they of course it quit. At a cruise it does great, if i ease of the throttle and then punch it, it does good. But from a dead stop at an all out foot to the floor, it doesnt do right. i tried to go 2 stages rich on the primaries but it did worse. Oh yeah and the ignition system is good, ive check it again and again, timing is set right, and the IMS screws have been adjusted properly with a vacuum gauge. oh and the carb is an edelbock 1406

Any suggestions?

Sound's like you're still a little low on fuel in the bowl, and as you go around the corner, it's sloshing around.

Well, i adjusted the float one more time and its doing alot better. Now more sputtering around turn ( I think, i havent pushed it that hard yet) Although, now when i all out mash the throttle, i just takes it a minute to get going, its goes right away just not with all its potential. it doesnt sputter or miss or anything just takes it a minute to pick up and take off. Could it be possible that i need to increase the stroke of the acceraltor pump? Or maybe i should try to increase the WOT with the rods?

I'd say go back over the manaul for cause/symptoms...The questions you're asking are pretty well laid out...least the online ones I printed out years ago were.....I had a similar (on acceleration) issue with a 1406? I think it was..I didn't do the tuning on the carb, but my bud dialed it in pretty quick following the instructions.

Ya, not much help but at least ya get a bump up

Well, i have been tuning on it for a while now, while reading the manual. I tuned the IMS with a vacuum gauge and bought a calibration kit. I pulled one if the plugs and it looks pretty lean, in a lean condition, should i richen the mixture screws to take care of the problem?
