Oil pan braces?

The stock oil pan came with two metal braces that ran the length of the oil pan on each side? I have an aftermarket chrome plated oil pan and I'm wondering if the braces should go back on when I install it?

doesn't really matter, but be better if they did. they'er used to prevent the bolt holes from distorting.

thnx but there is another twist. The part of the brace that is around the dipstick hole doesn't fit in the grooves of the oil pan

Then the answer would be a "no". They don't help in sealing the pan anyway. Actually had better luck without them.
