Need dipstick length for '87 5.7L

Just like the topic says, I need to know how long the metal strip part of the dipstick is. If someone could measure from the tip until right where the black part starts.

Thanks,

It's a Corvette engine. I just replaced the old tube with a new one for a Camaro. So either I purchase a new dipstick, or cut the new tube to the correct length.

Will the engine with the proper amount of oil. Insert dipstick to check level. Mark where the full mark is and cut off about an inch lower than that.

After that if there's no oil on the dipstick, it's too low.
