has anyone run a homemade cold air kit on a Q-jet instead of TPI??

has anyone run a homemade cold air kit on a Q-jet instead of TPI??
if so could you tell me how you did it and also i was wonderin if you might have some pics of it

I don't have any pictures, but the principle's easy enough. You have a carb, so, you have that thing that looks like a garbage can sitting on top of your engine. One one side (two sides if you've got the dual-snorkle model) is a tube running out of the garbage can. That connects to a flexible plastic tube, which connects to that scoop looking thing which is bolted to the front of the engine compartment. Take off the flexible plastic, and use some dryer hose (or any hose you want really.. Dryer hose is just cheap & easy) and attach where the flexible plastic tube used to connect to the air filter housing. Then route the dryer hose to a spot that it can pick up cold air. Voila.
