crank pully bolt threads screwed up uh o

crank pully bolt threads screwed up uh o

im replacing my timing chain and my crank pully\ harmonic ballancer bolt threads are all spashed up could this mean i somehow stripped out my crank threads a little bit? if so has anybody had this problem before and is it possible to tap new threads in thanks

If there aren't enough unstripped threads left, you could drill it out and helicoil it or tap it to the next larger size.

my guess is you screwed up the threads when you removed the dampner, try running a tap in the hole and clean them up
