I own a '88 Sport Coupe with the stock 2.8 V6 automatic and I want to drop in a LT1 and a T-5 tranny into it. But I was wondering if it were cheaper just to buy an iroc with its 350 and five speed tranny and boost that up?

Stock? Umm... Close enough to non-existant. Plenty of people have done aftermarket jobs though.

You should probably just forget about finding a 350/5spd. combo. If you drop a new motor and tranny into your car, you're going to have to upgrade the suspension. But then again you'll have to take into account the condidition of your car. Is it worth it take put a new motor and tranny into it? If you're plan was to put a LT1 and 5spd in your car, you definately have to address the suspension issue. If you're looking for cheap why not just drop a ZZ4 into the car. Personally I would probably look for an IROC that needs a new motor or something, you could probably pick up for cheap.
