Any particular reason you went with the large chambers?

Have the heads been ported any?

How did you get 9.6:1 compression with a 355 and 76cc heads?

Torquers suck.

Well you could get 9.6:1 CR IF he had domed pistons...but of course he said he had stock pistons.
I would say yes your heads are holding you back as well as your low compression.
Also, Ive never seen that grand on a comp cams xtreme energy...i know of 224/230 and 230/236...but not 227/236.
Of course i could be wrong.
The AFRs would be a nice upgrade.
Oh yeah, toss that ADS chip in the trash.

Out of the box, yes.
But still just as good and a better buy than 99% of factory castings.IMO,these are the 2nd best buy on the market, for a mild performance engine,2nd to the vortecs.
But I challenge anyone to suggest a better pair of heads in that price range, and don't say vortec, because by the time you do the machine work, and buy an intake, you've left the price range of the S/R in the dust.

The reason I chose such a large chamber, is becasue they are .125 dome top pistons. I was trying to keep the compression ratio from getting to high. I've heard good and bad thigs about the heads, but mostly bad. And no The heads haven't been ported, I took them out the box and bolted it on.

The cam is a custom grind from Delta Camshafts, it used to be 224/230, but I wanted a little more lift and duration to go with the HSR intake.

Get your current heads ported and tune it, should be much faster then.
