will not start

Just got my car running again the other day after 3 months. Put 3.42's in it and was loving it for a day. Went cruising shut if off, went to start it back up and it did I took off and it seemed to chug big time then died and has not started back yet. I cleaned the engine earlier that day but if that would of messed something up I dont think it would have waited half a day to do this. I am getting spark because at night my wires are arching like crazy wich I just found out and I am getting fuel. Any other possibilites?

Um arching is bad and will make your car not start or run. Try a tune up.

Water is bad for the TPS, so I'd check the TPS output.
Seems like more than coincidence that the problem came after washing the engine off.

Replace those plug wires! Arching would definately make you car act that way.

Everytime a plug wire arcs, that spark plug doesn't fire.

Thanks, I did not think that was it though because it was fine all day and I am sure they were arching all day. Plus my old wires did the same thing but my car still ran, ran like crap but it still did.

If it was a pressure washer you might have forced water into places it shouldnt be, like the TPS...

I have a TBI. And today I was trouble shooting and found out its a fuel problem. When I poor gas into the TBI, it will start up. So I checked how much gas is coming out when I try to start it and it's only a drip. I dont know how much usually comes out but it has to be more than a drip. And I just replaced my fuel pump but I got it at Autozone so I do not know right now what to think.

when the car is in the on position but not started can you hear the fuel pump? it should run for a little then shut off when it comes up to pressure.... also check your fuel filter... and do you have gas in the tank even though the gauge might read it full....

Just filled it up, and yes the pump is priming. When I unhooked the fuel line after the pump and tried starting it gas came out just not sure with out a guage to see if there is enough pressure. Like I said there is only a drip from the injectors and when I poured gas in the TBI it fired right up.

could be the pressure regulator

Do not ever buy a fuel pump from autozone. Someone told me that the pumps there were made by Walbro and that autozone stamped their name on it to sell it at there stores. I do not think that is the case. I did not even go through a full tank of gas and I have to go in and replace it again. I am buying an oem replacement from the dealer. My first one lasted 150,000 miles so I know they are good.

Grimaldo, I have the same problem. Did you find out what it is? I let my car sit for two years, tried to start it and it just turned over, looked at the TBI and fuel dripped out of the injectors. If I pour fuel into the TBI it runs fine until the fuel is burnt up. Does an expert reading this know what the heck is happening.
