idel is searching till it stalls, no power

ok so this is on the tbi board but to posts my net more responce.
it an 88 tbi
ok so i did a tune up last week. plugs, wires, cap and rotor, oil, fuel filter.

two nights ago when i started it the idel shot to 1500 then down to 400. back and forth till it drops anough to stall. no power until 2000 or 2500 rpm. cleaned the iac ( lugs that hold pintal are worn going to replace) didnt help. im replacing the o2 tommarrow eeven though it does it before its warm.
if i unplug the map sensor it idels good.
unplug iac and the idel went to 1300 and slowly rising.
i dont know what to do. tommarow im going to be replacing sensors with the ones out of my other tbi formula.
just wondering if anyone has any ideas for me.

hmmmm

The wires to the IAC.. i.e. the connector itself ... is it worn ? Is the tab holding the IAC connecting wires to the IAC.. broken ?

If so ... make sure the IAC connector .. the four prong one .. is in correctly ... mine was in .. off 90 ... one day .. and that screwed it all up

im going to set my tps. i need to get a fuel pressure gage. im starting to wonder if my return line got pluged or my fpr let the pressure increase.
i dont know what to do. my car is starting to **** me off. but after having it for 5 years and the only problem i had with it was overheating when i bought it.

ok so replaced iac and map and tps. no change till tps. have an o2 but im not puting it in till i get it running right.

so after i installed the tps non adjustible (off my other car, autozone tommarow adjustable one). the car started the same rpm went to 1300 droped to next to nothingalmost stalled. after playing with the throtle i got it stable at 1000. it slowly reduced to around 500 and then sat there for 3 min then stalled. i restart the car bring it up to 1500 ran fine not skipping but after holding it there for about a min it started losing rpms to mantain 1500 kept taking my throtle. let off the throtte just stalls. no codes after all this. dont know what it could be.
fuel pressure?
ign module?
im going to go over the wires and plugs again, but i just need some ideas on what it could be.

Ditch it and go with old school stuff like me

Thats kinda weird what you got going on there, could still possibly be the tps if its an old/used one.

its used it out of my 88 formula. advance auto had to order it. my old tps voltage was unstable .34 -.68V , the one i put in from my formula is .64 a little high but stable. i am tempted to go carb but i like how little problems i had with tbi in 5 years of owning the car. i need to co over every sensor and system. i realy wish my car didn't start pulling this crap. i was going to do a full brake upgrade and put in a posi rear. i just put in new suspension springs last week along with the tune up.

anyonw have anywhere they think i should start im up to sugestions.

I would go down to the junkyard and scam an ECM but i doubt thats your problem, Its worth a try if you can get a free one though.

i went out and started playing with my car again now it doesnt want to stay runing at all. im starting to think because i have no codes no sensors or modules are dead. just wondering if my prblem could be caused by a bad fuel pump. im reaching because i know the shops will rape me and do modt of the things iv done over. would have checked fuel pressure all ready but both auto parts places didnt have a tbi fp tester.

ok so i tested the feul pressure and found i had zero. dont know if it right but it damn low. when i checjed flow it trickled out. but the car runs kind of. i cant drive it. so my question is will a tbi car run on zero pressure. going to check if i have wpower at the pump. but im really starting to think im going to have to drop the tank.
