Would this be a good setup?

I am wondering if this would be a good setup for street and some days at the track. Also, if anyone could tell me about how much horsepower I would be making I would be really thankful. I am going to be running this on a 355SBC. I am also just looking for bolt on stuff, seeing as I don't have access to any fabircation tools. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

I like everything I see except the cam.Not that it's a bad grind, but name brand manufacturors have much better, cutting edge technology built in their cams. There's a reason Summit cam kits are cheap.
My recomendation would be a Comp Cams extreme energy,If it were mine I'd go with the XE274.

just be careful on the lift of the cam with using the vortec heads. depending on which ones you get you can run into issues if i'm correct. scoggin dickeys have upgraded vortec heads to handle more lift just to let you know.

I dont plan on leaving the Vortechs stock, so it should be able to handle a cam with a higher lift. And for the cam, that was the only one I could find that fit into my price range. How much is the Comp Cam one, is it worth the extra money?

only if you want the extra horsepower. They usually run around $176 for the cam & lifters through summit. Well worth the extra couple $$!!

Oh well, that will fit into my budget. Thanks for the suggestion. Does anyone know how much power this would be making?

Do you have any suggestions so I can get 400HP without nitrous? I have about $200 extra so anything within that?

Honestly,no.$200 is not chump change, don't get me wrong. But it's also not going to buy a whole lot in the way of added power in your case. Why not go ahead and add a small hit of NOS?

Are there any parts that I could replace any of the ones mentioned above that wouldn't cost me over $200-300 bucks.

[B]

Replace the Flowmaster with a Dynomax Ultra Flow muffler. Unless you REALLY like the Flowmaster sound, the Dynomax will outflow it.

Be sure and get upgraded vortech heads with better springs for over .500 lift. Summit and scoggin dickey sell them already modified. That might be your extra $200 if you were planning on getting stock ones.

I was planning on getting the stock Vortechs and modding them myself. I plan to port and polish them, new everything basically.
