Help!!! not thirdgen realated
my roomate has a 77 GMC 1/2 ton pickup, with a 350 eldelbrok carb, t350 tranny, today it started smoking out of the breather?? what could be causing this, and is it dangerous to the engine.
also, just this week he had new valve cover gaskets installed by a shop, could they have done something wrong that would be cuasing this?
any info would be helpful , thanks in advance

What kind of "smoke"???
A lot of steam out of the vent cap on the valve cover could be water in the oil. (headgasket, intake gasket, crack in casting)
oily smoke could be blowby. (rings)
Change the oil and filter and see if that helps. If it helps, then returns later you know where to look.
Minor water seepage can sometimes be sealed up with a engine block-cooling system sealer.

Well it is defenently oil smoke, and i went and looked at it this morning, there is ALOT of smoke. we will probably try chainging oil and filter, but by the amount of smoke, i am thinking there is something more than that wrong.
thanks for the help guys, any other ideas would be great.
