self aligning or non?
i got some new heads but they didnt come with the guideplates, since my car is self aligning already, should i stay self aligning (just buy new rockers) or purchase the non self aligning rockers , which are a bit cheaper, but then also have to buy the guideplates. so i guess my question is, which is better for performance?

Rocker alignment doesn't effect pwerformance. Matter of trust, I would go with guideplates and non-self aligned.

Which Canfields did u get? The 220s need offset rockers, don't they? I 'plan' on getting either the 220s or the 190s in the future.

If the pushrod holes are round and larger than the pushrods, you need guideplates or self aligning rockers.
If the pushrod holes are oval with the width just barely larger than the pushrods, you don't use guideplates or self aligning rockers.

Yea, Trav, only the 220s need offset rockers, not yours. Do the heads look pretty good? People who have them seem to like them. I have a set of early trickflow heads that had pretty bad pitting in a couple of the intake ports and am seriously condsidering the Canfields.

my pushrod holes are big round. plenty of room for swivel. so i think i will go with guideplates since its drilled for it anyways.
i love my canfields. they arent even on the car yet but the quality is A+
the ports are really well squared out very minor gasket matching. very smooth runners (for being cast) and just like they say, they use top notch components. i got mine with the 2.08 manley SS valves and 1.55" springs.
if u can wait a about a week i can get my friend to snap some pics.

Oh I can wait.... and I'd love to see some pics. My trickflows have a large round hole, too for the pushrod, and those require guideplates.
