I'm putting a 350 in my 91 TPI that had a 305. The 350 block I got (from an f-body)came with everything, including the starter. When I went to hook up the wires to the starter, my positive cable from the battery was too small to fit over the stud on the starter, so I had to drill it out. Not a big deal, but jeez, can't anything be simple?
Anyway, I went by the parts where I work and looked up the starters for myself. Sure enough, 305s and 350s had different starters. I guess it's not a big deal since I already have the 350 starter, but does anyone know what the difference is, besides the size of the stud? More torque or something?

i believe the 305 got a 153 tooth flywheel while the 350 got a 168 tooth flywheel hence the larger flywheel and different starter. why you ask? i guess to put less load on the starter by making it work less.
