Best Damper????
What is he best Damper? Price is not an issue. I really feel like this should be a quality part.
I am running a 383 all forged internally balanced with aluminum trickflow heads. Very hot cam, operating range 3000-7000. So this motor wants to rev. What is the best damper? Thanks guys.

dennisbernal91z,
When my son and I were rebuilding his 350 a TGO Friend (KDrolt) provided some great information and the links below that helped us understand dampers. Hope it helps you also.
Here's a few links that discuss torsonal dampers:
http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/4402/
http://www.grapeaperacing.com/Grape...ngs/dampers.pdf
http://www.enginehistory.org/NoShortDays/TV.pdf
http://www.atiperformanceproducts.co...pers/index.htm
especially the tech articles at the bottom of the page.
This one is probably the best one:

Sincerely,
Kurt (with a lot of help from KDrolt)

ATI hands down, ask 10.90 street car how he liked his Fluidamper.
Race proven on thousands of severly abused race motors, wont break a sweat on anything else.
6 3/8", smaller diameter = lighter rotating mass and quicker revving.

Talk to your engine builder,go with his reccomendation for the damper size. The worst thing you can do is take his platform and start "mixing and matching" things.

I called ATI. They said that running their 7" damper would be just fine. I think I am going to do this.
Irockz...Good idea, I will def run it by him.
If you guys need an engine built cheap, talk to (thebigwelsh) Matt. (500HP 383 all forged and aluminum heads, complete motor shipped for 6400)
