Is there a way to soften my gas pedel up?

My gas pedel is extremly stiff. You have to like stand on it to rev it... Not that bad.. I have an 85' Camaro Z-28.

its proly ur throttle return spring, its to tight, or stretched to far, get an aftermarket return bracket and spring.

The bushings for the linkage could also be shot. Pop the throttle cable off the linkage (don't lose that damned clip!), and work the linkage by hand... see how it acts.

throttle cable might be binding inside the covering. the way to find out is to diconnect the cable from the TB and pull it back and forth. should be no resistance except for the weight of the gas pedal. if there is no resistance, then chech the TB for excessive force to turn by hand.

What carb are you running?I had an edelbrock performer on my car for awhile and found it real stiff.I had to set up another spring to pull back against the two that pulled it forward.NEVER run just one spring,you always need two just in case one should fail.I've also seen some Q-jets use up to three springs,if so,take one out or try to mix and match untill you like the feel of it.Hope this helps.
