Unburnt gas smell after overheating

I'm having a problem with my 89 RS. I'm smelling unburnt gas when it starts up and for some time after it's been running. Before the overheating I never smelled gas from it. As far as the overheating is concerned, I left my fan unplugged the day before I went back to college. I was on the road for 4 hours in 90 degree weather at 70 MPH. I was unable to monitor the temperature because the CTS was broken. When I got to college I was smelling coolant so I opened the hood. My reservoir tank had balooned out because it was soo hot and the coolant in the tank was at a rapid boil.

I'm embarassed to say that I left my engine overheat like that, the gas smell has been present ever since. Before that, the engine was in great shape.

Does anybody know why the gas smell is present now, or how I can fix it? I'm guessing that since this coincided with the overheating that lasted for 4 hours, maybe it wore the rings down, or even started excessive wear on the cylinders themselves.

Is it possible for excessive blowby to be smelled in the drivers seat????? I do have an open air element and a breather on the passenger side valve cover, but to my knowledge, air only enters that breather, it comes out the PCV. Is this correct??

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. However, the car still runs good, and on cold days it feels as strong as ever. The car also started right up after the overheating, I was running Mobil 1. Maybe it saved my engine from further damage.
