During the cam break-in you can expect it to get hot enough to make your coating flake off on the headers, so it will run hotter than usual.

Make sure you have the correct 50/50 mix of water and ethelyne glycol (antifreeze) and that it's full.

Also make sure that your radiator cap is working properly. 9/10 they dont hold their advertised poundage rating right out of the box, none the less if it's your original cap.

Make sure your belt isnt slipping around the water pump as well.

You can hot wire your fans to be running at all times. I suggest this for you.

Lots of people here believe that starting and stopping several times during a cam break-in is going to dramatically hurt your chances of it breaking in properly since in the first 5 minute interval you washed off all the cam lube with engine oil. After that the motor was stopped for an excessive amount of time to let it cool down. Then it has to be started again with no form of lubrication for a couple seconds while oil gets back to it's flinging nature .

There are also lots of people here that believe that it doesnt make enough difference to matter and that if the cam doesnt break-in properly that it wasnt going to anyways, and isnt neccessarily the fault of being turned off and restarted after a while.

Just food for thought

Thanks.... lots of good food....

1. Getting a griffin 2 1" core alum radiator for my b-day
2. Alright for running warmer during break-in.. but when it wants to break into head ruining temps i tend to shut it off to save my $1500 heads
3. still runs hot right now... read 1
4. according to the water wetter bottle its supposed to cool better minus the glycol but im not seeing anything show stopping so tomorow im pickin some 50/50 up
5. fan.. only one 16" electric is wired to a switch which i usually have runnning anyhows.... it was hot wired to ign on but i had a problem withthe car recieving feed back and dieseling so i took it off that wire

again see my post lol! Do you have ythe 3 wire alt? I do, my diagram had the wiring backwards! So my motor wouldnt charge the batt, but wouldnt turn the car off either, it just kept running lmfao! I reversed the wires and it works great.

If you have A/C see if the condenser is blocking too much air to the radiator. I had many cooling problems through 2 motors. When I took the condenser out and noticed that all the fins were bent it solved all my problems.
