new spark plug wires

well my car starts fine and runs pretty decent but when first start and idleing 4 about a min and you give it gas it wants to die, it bogs almost dead for about 2 sec then it rev's up, im thinking its the fuel injectors since there the stock ones that come in it back in 86, but i am gonna try 2 upgrade my spark wires first, and thats my other question what whould be the best ones to buy 4 a stock 305 TPI with everything stock on it??

thanks

It's not uncommon for it to do that while in open loop mode. The O2 sensor is bypassed during this time and the A/F mixture is set to run a little rich also.

When you blip the throttle you're changing the A/F ratio for a nanosecond (or slightly longer). No different than doing it to an engine with a carb.

Once the engine reaches operating temp. and/or after a set amount of "warm up" time, the O2 sensor starts working and all should be fine. If not, THEN you have a problem.

Get a cut to fit set of Moroso Blue Max wires. The cut to fits are guaranteed to fit how you want. I like their boots better than the MSD (more resistant to temperature and they seat on the plug better) and the ends are easier to assemble than the Taylors. If you want to you can get the Made For You wire looms for the centerbolt valve covers. If you decied to get them too, you can get the whole package from Thunder Racing.

Fuel injectors arent too bad to do. Stick with stock, you dont need larger, and if you did get larger, first assuming youre an MAF car (not sure on that), you'd need to have the MAF recalibrated to that injector size. Second, you'd probably end up being rich and need an AFPR, or have a chip burned, to dial the fuel back down....and sizing down injectors never seems to work quite as good as just having the proper size in there in the first place.
