alternator vbelt isnt lined up, new setup

hey, well i re-did the whole motor, including the accessories. the old setup had one serpentine and one vbelt, now i bought some march pulleys, and a new weiand water pump and chrome alternator, which are full vbelt style

my alternator isnt lined up with the water pump pulley and crankshaft, its too far ahead, now i cant push it back because a circle thing in behind the alternator hits the head, it seems that if i get a longer belt and i can move the alternator up, like you do to tighten the belt, and it will clean the head and ill have 1/4-1/2 inch and that circle thing in the back of the alternator will clear and i can move the alternator to the left some to line it up, it maybe be confusing but here is a picture.

p.s. on the old setup, the groove's the belt is on now was the power steering, and the alternator was the next one over, is that right? because i cant push out the alternator at all, but the power steering was on an angle and didnt look right in the first place, it didnt have the spacers, and it was crooked and didnt look like it shoulda went on the inside at all. so i think this is right now, and should work. am i talkin right?
