On my friends '84 Z28 during acceleration gears 1-3 it almost sound electric. It very loud sounds cool, but it drowns out the motor. Any clue what it is. I think its either the tranny or rear end.

well, that's a pretty vague question, especially if you can't narrow it down between the trans and the rearend. best thing to do would be to get it up in the air on a lift and run the car to make the noise and figure out where it's coming from.
