my freind's LG4 just blew up

He offered me $300 for my old L03. Can he just throw this in place of the LG4 and have no problem? He is gonna keep all of the old stuff just my L03 longblock.
thanks

Depends upon the year of his car/engine. Yours had a one-piece rear main seal, meaning a different flexplate/flywheel than a two-piece rear main seal. If his car is '86-newer, no problem. If '85-older, he'll have to get a different flexplate/flywheel.

Otherwise, it should bolt in with his intake, distributor, etc.

well flexplate/flywheel is relatively cheap IMO, so i wouldnt really take that into consideration if i were deciding to swap or not...just my thoughts

Well, forgot one other item.

If his current engine is '86-older, the intake manifold will have the center two intake bolts on each side at a different angle than the heads on your engine. He can elongate the manifold bolt holes and make it work, or get a manifold with the different bolt angle holes for it.

You also might want to peek at the fuel pump boss on your old engine and see if its drilled for a mechanical pump. Since your friend has an lg4 im gonna assume it's got a carb on it, some Lo3's Ive seen go either way. Electric fuel pumps can suck sometimes.
BUZZZZZZZZ.

An LO3 without the mechanical fuel pump boss cast and machined into the block?

That's a new one on me.
