What kind of plugs do you guys recomend?

It is a brand new Aluminum headed 383 runing around 10:1 (a little less) with a very agressive cam that has a lot of duration. All forgd internals with a holly 750 DP and HEI. There is also a mallory iginition box.


What are the best plugs. The instructions just say try using ACCEL, NGK and so on. But it says nothing about what heat range to use.

For gap it says to try .035.

Well my AFR 210CC heads on my new 383 recommended AutoLite 3910s. I'd imagine that would be a good starting range. Try doing some searches around the board if you want cause 3910s are hard to come by and in the past there has been posts linking up similiar part numbers of different plug companies.

 

Well to me...I think it mententions so little brands is because...all spark plugs are basicly the same thing lol, WOW some are made of platnium!! doesn't really matter as long as the electricity jumps the gap...So in my opnion I'd just buy any normal plugs, if your worried about getting the right one, just go for the "Delco Platnuims" not much of a difference just makes them sound good and look cool lol.

 

I hear what you are saying. I know that anything will work, but I am sorta nervouse. I want as many things to be the best as possible. This motor was so damn expensive that I want to not mess up. I am really only concerned about the heat range part.

Should i just ask for generic "good" plugs and see what i get????

 

I use a Champion RS12YC 14mm 5/8" gapped at .035 in my 388, but my heads are GM Aluminum fast burn 62cc. 10:1 CR

The others were cheaper or were not as clear to identify.
