what is the best intake manifold gasket

I've got aluminum heads and an aluminum intake, is there a better gasket I should get or just go with the standard Fel-pro?

i like fel pro, they make gaskets for iron to aluminum applications, just ask for it when you buy your gaskets

Could always get the head gaskets from GM for an '89 Vette or something. I don't know right off hand who makes GM's gaskets, but I think its Victor Rienz (sp?)

Victor Reinz... yea, thats the one GM uses. Victor gaskets incidentally are made by Dana Corp., who supplies alot of parts to GM. The packages used to be yellow and white, with black print. This, oddly enough, matches the style and colors used by Wix Filters. Wix so happens to be a division of Dana Corp. too. Ill let you figure out where AC filters come from....

I was actually talking about the intake manifold gasket. It will be an aluminum to aluminum application. Should the standard fel-pro gasket work??

Ive used the standard fel-pro.

The later Corvette (like 89) has an aluminum head and aluminum intake.

I just bought both the 1205 Fel-Pro's and the VR ones. The VR comes with goop for the end seals and rubber seals, your choice. The also have an exhaust crossover passage and a metal chip in the rear coolant passage. The 1205's have a bigger port (taller) but no exhaust crossover and both coolant passages are open. It also comes with no silicon, just two cork end seals. Just thought some of you might want to know this.

I use felpro without thinking twice, they know what they're doing.
