Well I went out to crank the Camaro up today and chipped a flywheel tooth. Wonderful, thats just what I wanted to replace. Anyway, the motor is a 1 piece rear seal internally balanced 383 stroker. Nobody seems to make 1 piece, 168 tooth neutral balance flywheels. They are all externally balanced. Can I take the weight off and use it?
After I replace this, I am going to put the ignition on a switch so this doesnt happen again.
Thanks!

The easiest thing I can think of is to get a starter to match whatever flywheel you can find. I know this time of year money is so easy to come by

Like this but without the weight...

I have a dual starter bolt pattern, so 153 or 168 would work.
Apparently I own the only internally balanced 1 piece rear seal 383 on the planet.

Perhaps you can replace the fly wheel with an aluminum one. It add a bit of engine life and horse power and it'll rev faster.
