fuel pump constantly running

Hey everyone I'm new to the boards, just want to say hello I like the site and I appreciate all the information here.

Ok my problem is when I shut off my car the fuel pump sounds like it is still running. This has been going on for almost 2 weeks. sometimes it stops but it ran all night long last night and this morning my battery was dead.

What is causing this and can I put a proper end to it?

Car is a 92 camaro 305 TBI. Thanks

Fuel pump relay sticking or the oil pressure switch is sticking (both cases in the 'on' position). Unplug them one at a time to see which is the problem. The fuel pump relay is against the firewall, near the brake booster, should be in the middle. Start with that one. The oil pressure switch/sender is a 3 sender plugged in just above the oil filter.

It's gotta be the oil pressure sensor i just changed it two weeks ago before this problem arose. All I have to do is unplug and re-plug?

Check both, just to be sure. But yes, just unplug the harness from the sender/switch.

Yeah, I doubt it's the fuel pump....Im sure that would have killed your battery if this has been going on for at least 2 weeks.

Well like I said sometimes it stops yesterday it stayed on all night so it killed the battery.

It's your Oil Pressure Sending Unit - mine did this - killed the battery every 2 days for weeks before I figured it out. Should be under driver side just above the oil filter. Positive runs directly from battery to fuel pump through the OPSU, so it will do this whether key on or not. They are like $28 at Autozone. Some cars had them on the china wall just behind the dizzy also.

Are you trying to say I need a new OPSU?

I just had it replaced which probably caused this problem. Did my mechanic mess it up or whats the cause here?

I just know that when mine ran always, whether key on or off, it was the OPSU. There should be an electrical plug on the OPSU - try disconnecting it and see if the pump still runs. I'm not 100% sure this would tell the tale, but it's a possible way to diagnose - I don't know 'cause I just replaced mine withjout testing anything, and it did the trick.

If you didn't do it yourself, there's no telling what was or wasn't done! The only true way to know is by doing it yourself.
