head gasket ??s
i have a "0" decked block and need a .035 - .040 gasket for the 383.
got any favorites?
does victor reinz make one?
looks like the 1010 felpro would be a close match, but i think the general might have a better one?
looking at pn/10159455 Composition Head Gasket
This composition head gasket with stainless steel jacket is used on Chevrolet V8 302 - 400 CID engines with bore diameters from 4" to 4 1/8". The gasket has a compressed thickness of .039".
also looking at,
12363763 Head Gasket "Special Competition"
This heavy-duty composition head gasket for iron or aluminum heads is teflon coated and has pre-flattened steel fire rings (this feature reduces head and deck surface galling). This gasket features a 4.200" bore for bow tie, 400 small blocks and aluminum blocks. This gasket does not have steam holes required for the production 400 S/B. It does have revised coolant hole pattern (this reduces coolant temperatures between the center bores). This head has compressed thickness of .038" with volume of 8.9cc and this does not require retorquing.
i didn't see anything about the stainless/graphite gaskets that were supposedly recently released.
possible nitrous in the future(probably 150 max.)
9.46 static/7.685 dynamic with .040
9.56 static/7.764 dynamic with .035
-20cc dish pistons
64cc topline vortecs (not cc'd yet)
rest should be in my sig
