wont start

ok so the bird wont startafter i did the intake gaskets, and i made sure to get the timing as close as i could, but if the timing is off even a couple degrees would it not start???

Couple of degrees? Nope it would still start.

Uhhhm....check for a bad/misaligned gasket, causing a massive vacuum leak?

ok i checked to see if i was getting spark from the coil, im getting spark, i havent checked the spark comming from the cap yet though, i dont see how it wouldnt work i started it to make sure everything was still good before i did everything, i just dont get it..

Before you pulled the dizzy did you note which cylinder the rotor was pointing to? Or did you just blindly pull it/restab it?

If the motor was turned over, which I doubt it was but you never know...maybe youre 180 out?

ok i think i figured it out, i tried to start it with a weak battery, and so i flooded it and then so yesterday i get it to start and it starts right up with a jump runs rough but then i took it for a drive after i changed the spindle and then the motor just goes wide open, when i get it home the intake was leakin again, but i look at it today and i see i guess i cracked the intake so now im SOL and i think the carb is about to take a **** so, does anyone have an Intake/Carb for cheap or know of an aftermarket kit that is cheap that will work on it, i only need it to last about 4 months(brothers going to the marines)
