I would like to keep it streetable enough to safely cruise on the weekends and hit the track as much as i can .Also i,m hoping to limit it to the top end for now as i am on somewhat of a budget.I know the bottom end will leave me eventually .this is my first project so i,d like to learn on this block.also i,d like to keep it 93 octane.I dont ask for much

As for heads.. I like trick flow's but there are so many to choose from. 220/230 duration cam, demon carb, and DR's should get you in the 12's no problem.

AFR 195's, Comps 236/242 grind, Air Gap intake, 650 DP, 3200 stall, 3.73's, 28" tires, decent headers/exhaust setup.

vortec heads, 3000-3500 stall, 3.73 gears with 26" slick, or 4.10 gears with 28" slick, XE 274 cam, and 750 holley DP with a air-gap performer RPM intake will get you 12s for sure, maybe high 11s. This is the cheapest combo out there for solid 12s on a budget.

Oh yeah, I am running Hedman LT's with dual 2 1/2 exhaust with dynomax bullets.

if he only wants to run 12s then AFR heads are going to be a waste of money. He could save the $900 from them and spend it elsewhere. If his goal was 11s then I would push the AFRs or Dart or Brodix, etc. But 12s aren't that hard to break into with a cheaper combo.

I agree, but we all know that one will only be happy with a 12 sec 350 for so long. The $1200 AFR's will still have plenty of life left in them when he decides to build a 383 or 400.
