estimate hp
hey guys my motor is gonna be done rather soon.(next couple of weeks) i wanna see what you guys think about my combo an how much hp youll think ill get
383.. steel crank rods.. not positive on the brand used its either scat or eagle with arps holding them together
speed pro forged... should be about 11-1
edlebrock performer heads..(port job) dont know how much more cfms ill be gettin its just a basic job
somewhere around 550 lift cam.. has not been decided yet
super victor intake
holley 750 double pumper
hedman long tubes 1 5/8s
if you guys can help on cam selection that would be awesome... this is not a daily driver.. i dont care about gas millage... doesnt have to be real streetable... has to have a big lopie idle... an i dont know if a turbo 400 changes any cam selecting..

Sounds like a pretty good combo. I'd be looking at full-length 1 3/4 headers though, 1 5/8 may be a tad small for that combination. But that's IMO. Power-wise, I'm a Ford guy...no flippin idea. More than me.
What you really need to figure out is your ideal duration (at .050 not that advertised BS) and LSA (not as big of a deal with carbed as it is with efi)
Those are gonna have a major effect on your powerband...now that you know the approx lift you want, go looking for camshafts with workable durations. It took me 3 nights to find my cam because I knew exactly what I wanted the car to do and wouldn't settle for less. Be picky, know what you want, but be reasonable and you'll be satisfied.
I don't know what kind of cam 350's like so I'll just make a very wild uneducated stab, and say look for something in the low 240's duration, 110-112 LSA, and the .550ish lift youre looking for. If somebody cares to chime in and call me retarded, by my guest. I know 302's like a lot of cam but I don't know if 350's like em a little milder or wilder so I'm just throwing it out there!

Get a dual plane intake. Flow the heads and choose a cam to match. those 1 5/8" headers will be fine.

It is a good intake, just not for your setup. Single plane intakes are for high RPM engines. The heads you have will like lower RPM's, and any cam that you pick that matches the heads will also be more low RPM friendly. You have to match all the parts, they all work together. The dual plane intake will work with your combination better. It will have better street manners and will make better power. If you already have it, cool. Sell it and use the money to buy the right intake.

there's no way to tell. How it's all put together makes just as big a difference as what parts you put together. We don't know your abilities and knowledge so it would all be just a guess. Built it based on your budget and what you want to do with the car. Pick parts that compliment each other and you will be happy. It's not about how much HP the thing makes.
IF it's all put together well; the right rings, file fit properly, balanced, blueprinted, zero decked, heads/intake port matched, cam properly matched to the heads and degreed in, good valve job on the heads, etc. I don't see why it wouldn't make at least 400, probably between 400 and 450 depending on the cam.
Here's the parts list from two of the latest 383's I've built and dyno tested. The first is the one in my Trans Am, the second is in a friends Nova:
Mine is 4 bolt 350 block, eagle cast crank, eagle 5.565" rods, Hi-Tech pistons (hypereutectic, close to a flat top), squared and zero decked, 10.2 cr, AFR 195's (flowed 270@.550 then fell on their face) custom Isky cam (duration less than 225* on intake and exhaust) RPM Air Gap intake, Holley 650 DP. Made 425hp/460tq
Other is a 5.7" rod 383 with CNC'd AFR 195's, flat top pistons with metric ring package, Comp 236/242* cam, Air Gap intake and a modified 650 that flows 820cfm. This one made 515hp/540tq.
Also had a 6" rod 383 with the same Comp cam with Vortec heads with 11.2 cr, same intake and carb that made 460 hp.
