Clicking Noise Under Hood

Alright folks, couple weeks ago I ran my car way, WAY to low on oil, now, when I start it up, smoke comes out of the exhaust on startup, never did that before, and now, ive got a clicking noise somewhere, it doesnt sound like a metal on metal noise, it actually sounds like a baseball card in the spokes of a tire.

Anyone have any ideas on what this might be?
And what do I need to do to stop smoke from coming out on startup?

Could be an exhaust leak, loose rocker arm, collapsed lifter...

well, went to Advance Auto, they think it's a loose lifter, they didnt know what to think of the smoke coming out only at startup.

I'd go with the lifter for the noise and worn valve seals for the smoke. Both are pretty common, and are more likely to happen if you run low on oil.

There must be a better place for diagnosis than Advance Auto. Not that some of the people there might not have a clue, but they are parts suppliers, not technicians.
