Need some helpful imformation
I was wondering what limitations a 350TPI engine has with only 25,000 miles. I would like to put a roller cam and make some other modifications down the road. I kno that i would need a bigger chip to go with the cam. I was wondering if I could expect to run into any "major" problems. Im also interested in buy a paxton or vortec supercharger. Any thoughts or suggestions? Also with these modifications the transmission and rear will be looked over and built stronger depending on the horsepower gains.
1. A 1988 SBC already has a roller cam;
2. A 1988 TPI has a MAF sensor, and changing a cam to something more aggressive doesn't necessarily require reprogramming ("bigger chip").
3. Installing an axial fan supercharger will require reprogramming, some new control components, additional fuel, timing retard, and would require that the cam profile be suitable for mild blower applications - The grind is significantly different.
