Wiper problem?

Ok this is a weird one. Once in a while when I push the tab to spray water onto my windshield, the water just keeps coming out constantly for the normal time that it would normally come out in spurts (it does not do it the regular three times) and the wipers don't work. If the water is coming out and i turn the wipers on to clear some of the water, the wipers still don't come on. Only after it is done will the wipers work

This is only once in a while though. COuld it be the lever/turn signal that is going bad? Or could it be something else? Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking you're probably right. Check the switch/lever first. You should be able to get to it by removing only the lower side cover on the column.
