Cant get cam out.

Today while disassembling my engine, i came across an awkward problem(one that have never had before). I cannot get my camshaft any further than 6" out of the block, all lifters have been taken out, distributor, fuel pump shaft, and anything else that would hold it in. Now, my thoughts are it is a wiped out bearing and others that have looked seem to agree. My question is, is their any way too remove it without damaging the block. Already went through one block completely refinished, and then noticed a crack in two cylinders, if it wasn't for bad luck, i wouldn't have any at all.

Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Rotate the crank 45°.

It's hitting on some rods.

That was my next thought, I'll have to try that.
