New motor startup...leave EST wire connected for Timing???
i just put a 383 HSR in place of the 305 TPI..i konw to adjust the timing you need to leave the EST wire discconected but since this is the first startup of this motor should i leave the wire connected then disconnect it to adjust the timing...

i would leave it disconnected, fire it up, get timing right. and let it warm up, then shut it down, reconnect est, then fire back up and drive.

it's a single wire connector that comes out of the main trunk of the harness on the firewall right above the a/c box.
