T5 Oilpan issues
Has anyone ever swapped out an oilpan in a T5 equipped car? Mine has a nice dent in it right near the drain plug and will need to be replaced. I am just concerned because I have heard that the bellhousing is really low on the T5 which might necessitate removing the driveshaft and crossmember to get enough clearance. Any thoughts on this?

I don't know if this will help, but i changed the oil pan on my crapomatic 700r4 equipped car, and all i had to do was undo the motor mounts, lift the engine a bit with a cherry picker and just kinda weave the pan out of there, it can be tricky if you don't a lift, which i had the luxury of using, but really i think you can do it.

thanks for the reply. i think i searched pretty well before posting this, and i could only find examples of people doing this with 700 cars. just wanted to know if there are any differences in clearance when changing the pan with the t5. i guess there is only one way to find out!

No there is no real difference in the chassis or the oilpan and the diameter of the flywheel is about the same as what an automatic's flexplate would be. So there is pretty much no difference, just have to go at it by lifting it up, I have heard of people getting around it by using a floorjack and pieces of wood to wedge between the engine and the k-member though, but I wouldn't try lifting the engine even using a 2X4 as support with a floorjack by the oilpan.
