Coolant in oil pan?

I had an 87 ta with tpi in high school and one day I was just driving it down the road and it started running funny. Turns out that the oil pan was full of coolant. People kept telling me I had an intake leak. I had someone put an intake gakset in and it seemed to fix it I guess. Now I have an 87 gta with tpi and the same problem. I bought it in the winter, put a water pump in it only to realize after I did it that this ones oil pan was full also. Is this a common proble, with the intake base gaskets going out on these or is there another frequent problem. Are these factory intakes junk from the get go? How should I fix this? Depending on how bad, could I have the intake machined and put a little bit thicker gasket in or do I need bearings and the whole nine yards. Any info would be great. thanks, Bret

could be intk gasket/head gskt or a cracked head/block.

First figure out what the problem is then we can work on a solution!

Wow, talk about bad luck. I've had about a dozen and the only intake coolant leaks ended up going up onto the intake, not into the block.
