I got into my car and I heard a scratching noise, I was like wtf? I popped the hood and couldn't figure out what it was; I went for a drive and came home. I shut off the engine and heard the same darn scratching noise; I think a squirrel has taken a liking to my engine bay

Now didn't you know when you add HP you have to give the worker a better place to sleep. .Sorry couldn't resist. All you have to do now is lure him/her out,if you haven't already.Try putting moth ***** under the hood when your car has to sit for any length of time(just don't forget to take them out before you use her).

I know how you feel I live in the country and my vehicles are just covered,no garage. My neighbor's cats tend to wander then I also have raccoons, opossums(but even a slow as they are I've never - but never say never - seen one under the hood of a vehicle). At least the deer don't know how to drive....I don't think. The moth ***** under the hood does work though.

I guess when you have the iron duke in there, it leaves a lot of room for wildlife habitat under the hood.

Put a bar of Irish Spring Soap under the car where the squirrel has been. It should leave soon.

Car: 90 R/S camaro 3.1L stock,
Started my old truck one winter and damn near killed the neighbors cat.It had gotten into the fan shroud to keep out the weather.Non clutch fan and 302 .Dunno who was more startled the cat or me.I give it to the cat. Also have had mice run out from under the dash of my 64 malibu while driveing down the road, and had a pals 6 ft burmese python decide to go hide up under his dash.Thought it would take ride there instead of in the carry all he was useing.
The next concern for ya is did it eat anything off the wires in the engine bay?Every year when i store the malibu out back the squirles chew on my sparkplug wires and different wires as they chose.Usually takes me a weekend to find all the damage and repair it.Gonna have to try the mothballs this year.

your runnin on ferrets!!. carefull tho, in the UK, there were ppl leaving cars in this parking lot and at the end of the day they would come back and it wouldnt start, the cause, cut wires. they later found out that the animals (either ferrets or similar species) are very territorial and if one would see another in the engine bay, they would eat whatever they saw to scare away the other guy. it was warm in the engine bay and by the end of the day they were gone because then engine was no longer warm.
----------
hey bill my neightbour had a cat that was old, and he was workin on the car one day and the cat got ontop of the engine to stay warm. when he started the truck up tho the cat went thru the serpentine belt system, he was only given a few days to live. so they went on vacation and came back to expect a dead cat, well he had fully recovered and aside from some bald patches he was alright.

There's a pretty big space inside the fender up by the battery in my 69 Camaro. My mother's cat climbed up in there one night. I fired up the car and went to school for the day and didn't notice anything strange. When school got out, I fired up the car and started to head for home. Keep in mind, this car has about 400 HP and a 4 speed Muncie in it. Being the typical teenager I was back then, I started romping on it and making the front end come way up, and all of a sudden I heard this really strange squeaking noise coming from the engine compartment. I was like huh, I guess I better pop the hood when I get home so I can see what's making such a weird noise. Once I got home and popped the hood, you never seen a more terrorized cat in your whole life! Poor thing was shaking uncontrollably. I couldn't believe it just stayed up in there the whole time I was at school. Needless to say, that cat never came near my Camaro ever again, and I never told my mother what happened to her poor cat either! Lol.

I had mice in the 88 IROC I had, every time I heard them screech I would yell out "YOUR GONNA DIE!!!!" That was when I first drove it home from the field it was in. Opened the hatch and let the cats go to work. Needless to say, no mice after that.

Stopped at macdonalds for a quick bite one nite. Was sitting in my car, chowin' down, and this truck parked next to me, and the driver got out, opened the hood, and started looking around with a puzzled expression. Got out to see if I could help, and he stated his truck was making some really odd noises.... Turned out, a cat had made a home in the front fender......

Re: LOOK AT WHAT I FOUND UNDER MY HOOD TODAY!

Back when we were lifting 5 ton trucks onto the boat, we noticed a cat on one of the axles, so yeah we had to lower the truck back down to the pier, and get the cat off from there.

I think the kitty wanted to get here the free way, no boat ticket, no visa *L*
