Car vibrates

Hi, I wonder if any of you knows what this is. My car gets this awful vibration when I'm cruising in overdrive and push the gas pedal a little further to go faster without stomping on it for a gear change. The same happens when going uphill and just apply a little more gas. It's like if the transmission needed to shift but it doesn't and the car starts vibrating. It's really annoying and I really don't know what could it be? Help please. Thanks

perhaps lugging the car, and it's detonating?
tranny mount, motor mounts...

hmm, yea, sounds like you're lugging the car, OD with slight acceleration (low RPM), going up a hill, without hammering the gas (ie, low RPM)...

It does it in straights too. It doesn't seem like it's coming from the engine. It come from the rear. Anyway, the car never behaved like this before.

If I were you, I'd check the rear end fluid then, just to be sure. A lot of the times, with "normal" cars if the rear end is doing something funny its related to the fluid.

Right before my 10 bolt blew I was getting some REALLY bad vibrations down the highway (pinion bearings blew up).

drivetrain vibrations

I have been having that same problem in my 92 rs... i have the t5 tranny but i would assume that my fifth gear is the same as your overdrive.... i am going to check the fluids in my rear axle now.... it happens to me when i am going about 40 mph in 5th gear and i ease onto the gas... let me know how things turn out with your car... maybe it can relate to mine

Make sure if you do change your gear oil you put in posi additive if you have a LSD.

Also, inspect your U-Joint bolts on your driveshaft. If you have a damaged U-Joint or a missing bolt, etc, or whatever, then you might get some wicked vibrations...not to mention your driveshaft could pop off while driving, and possibly do some damage.

Definitely sounds like its not downshifting soon enough. Make sure the TV cable is tight enough and adjusted properly. The sound is just the motor lugging, driving in D when under 45mph obviously stops it, but is just band-aid and you are ignoring the real cause.
