I had this problem before on my old 86 IROC, found that the motor would jump, and found out why my motor mount did not have a bolt in it; the upper mount was off a 6.2 DIESEL, on a 305HO, I was like wtf??? but was able to get a bolt in there, too much work to switch out the motor mounts.

Okay, that's the first mention of a 5-speed.

I had a rear upper shock mount poke through. Good place to start looking.

Rubbing brake lines arent fun, and neither is flying uncontrollably through an intersection suddenly...that was maybe the singlemost scariest moment of my life.

In case that one went over your head, rubbing brake lines = hole in line = loss of fluid = partial loss of brakes...unless you pop every brake line going to ever wheel, then you have zero brakes, lol.
