Can I use 1.6 rokers on a stock engine to get more lift?

Just wondering...I put a 1989 IROC TBI 305 in my 88 Chevy 2wd truck. The roller block has no towing power (but runs great). I have been told that the standard non roller truck 305 had better lift/duration specs than the 305 Camaro roller block. It's a pain trying to find a low rpm/high torque cam kit for the roller block...seems like everyone sells non roller cam kits!!

So.....could I replace the OEM 1.5 rockers with aftermarket 1.6 rockers to get a bit more lift and most importantly...more towing power.

Just a thought..

thanks

You will have to measure the valve guides. it shouldnt be a problem unless you already have a mild cam.
