Just how far can vortec heads be milled down?

Just how far can vortec heads be milled down?
Hi,
I have a set of Pro topline vortec heads for sale
and I have a buyer wanting to know if the 68cc chambers
can be milled down to 58cc chambers.

Generally you want to avoid flat milling a chev cylinder head more than about .060"
At that point you'll be real close to the intake valve seat. Make sure you get paid in full before you mill your heads for the buyer, as there are lots of tire kickers out there. May aftermarket heads have thick decks but the intake valve seat is usually still the physical limit. "Angle milling" will allow more metal to be removed but requires correcting the intake face angle and head bolt holes be redrilled. There are may buyers for these heads. I'd find one that wants a 64-68cc head as is and let that buyer find some 305 heads or corvette l98/ZZ4 heads
