Double check my cam choice before I pull the trigger
I think I've come to a decison on my cam. It's for the L98 in my 91 six speed corvette. Mods are in my signature, and I'll be adding 1.6 LT4 roller rockers, LT4 valve springs, a converted LT1 intake, and a cam.
My tuner wants to use a Comp Cams extreme energy cam, P/N 12-238-2.
218/224
.493/.500 w/ 1.6 rockers
110 LS
I'm a bit nervous about the 110 LS, and the cheesy description on Summit's website says the cam is not computer friendly. My tuner doesn't seem bothered by either of these things, and assures me the car will have great street manners, and should put down high 200's, maybe low 300's with that cam.
How do you guys think this cam compares to my original choice, the LT4 Hotcam:
218/228
.525/.525
112 LS
The specs are almost identical, and my gut reaction is to go with the hotcam. I'm really trying not to fall into the 'bigger is better' mind set though, so the XE cam is still on the table.
Thoughts?

You're comparing a flat-tappet cam to a roller cam. It's not at all apples-to-apples.
A better Comp Cams choice would be the 08-422-8 XR270; the 08-304-8 266HR; or the 08-466-8 268XFI. Any of those would run circles around the GM cam.
Of course, they'll also require better valve springs than the stockish cam; DO NOT try to cheep out on those. Especially not with the -466- (XFI series).
I don't see any real mods in your list, just some little bolt-on stuff, except for headers and nitrous. In particular, no mention of the ONE THING you need the most to go along with ANY cam swap, which would be, head work. ????
IMO the 304 would probably be the best grind if your heads are stock; the 466 if they've been opened up like they need to be.

I'm poor, so the car has no head work, lol.
I'll look into those other cams, thanks a bunch for the advice!
