Mystery plug

I wasnt sure if I should post this in electronics or tech but I'll try both.

I just bought a 5.7 350 TPI Iroc and havent ever worked on this engine so I'm still unfamiliar with it, but as I was looking around to get to know it, I found this plug unplugged from somewhere. The thing is that I dont know where it plugs into. I spent a good 2 hours with my cousin looking around to where it goes but couldnt find anything so I'm hoping someone else knows. Sorry if the pictures came out too blurry.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
That looks like the mystery plug.

I think every FI car has it, must be used at the factory for diagnostic testing or something, but isn't used in an assembled car. It it has a black wire and a pink w/black stripe (ground and ignition) that's probably what it is.

I believe that plug goes to the extension harness which then plugs into the MAT sensor under the plenum.

Rosadoc,
I keep running into you, this is the third post of yours that i am replying too. That plug means absolutely nothing to us. I too was baffled eight years ago when I bought my chariot. I can't tell what it's for, but I can tell you to treat it like an appendix. It may of had some use in the past on a different model with different options that used the same wiring harness, but for our purposes it has no use at all. Pretend it isn't there.

thanks 87IROC. Sorry I've been posting so much, I just bought my IROC and its my first camaro so I'm still unfamiliar with it. As for the plug, I'm glad it has no purpose, I was worried about it all night

Don't ever apologize for over-posting, it's encouraged. If anyone says otherwise, F*** 'em. I'm happy to assist anytime.
