Having problems please help
Hey i have an 85 z28 camaro and have been having a problem with my car. the problem is that i hit about 2500 rpm and i lose power to my car then the oil preasure is also goes down to about 30 psi. what is the problem and what do i need to do to correct it. it is also a stock motor. so please let me know what to do i just replaced the oil and has not helped.
Check your spark, get a spark tester and leav it in neutral and see what the spark looks like it should be a purple if its yellow that could be it. The pressure drop could be due to ethier a bad gauge or the loss of ignition. Dont rule out that it could be the old pump but thats usually takes a while to go. How many miles are on the car, is your tach actting up at all.
My guess would be somewhere in the igniton for the loss in power, run it at night with the hood open, have someone put it up to the RPM's you lose power and see if you see any sparks (so do it without any light around) check all the wires look under the cap see if the rotor is broken ir worn down.

ok i will check that. the car has at least a 130,000 miles on it. there is no metal shavings in the oil or anything like that but its weired cause at night the problem seems to happen more as well like its running to cold or something cause usualy in the day i dont have that problem.
Never heard of a car running to cold unless its like freezing outside, you can do the spark test even with a screw driver. Check off the coil first (coil to distributor) then start at the first plug and go
