Oil pan replacement with T-5

Is there anything different about replacing your oil pan with the engine and trans in the car if you have a T-5, or is it the same? I just thought I would ask before I tried. Thanks for any replies guys.

Also guys, while looking at pans, I came across one that I seem to like. It is part #MIL-30702 in Summit. It says it is supposed to be a stock replacement oil pan, but as I was reading the notes to it, it says that it requires a thick front seal. Would this still mean I could get away with just simply swapping the oil pan out and not messing with anything but the oil pan gasket? Also how hard is it to swap the pick-up on these engines?

It takes some finess but it can be done... Its the same oil pan I have.
You shouldnt have to swap the pickups but if you do it there is nothing to it
Plus i have a T-5 and it worked out fine... Just use a one piece oil pan gasket with the metal spacers and you will be fine

what is there to worry, did you look this up in the summit catalog? because it says you need an extra thick seal for the oil pan with a (*) which is a late 70's model I believe... it is an OEM pan that uses oEM gaskets

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Oil pans don't generally just up and need to be replaced.

Which makes one wonder: why are you doing this in the first place?

Has the smog pump been hacked off of your car by any chance?

no, it is just so rusted, that if I pushed my finger on it hard enough, it would just cave in. All smog is still there.
