Finished cam break-in. how do i check for worn lobes?
will a compression check let me know if the cam survived break-in? I had a little trouble getting the timing right so it would start and then it overheated. I sprayed the radiator with a hose after i restarted and it stayed @ 200.
should the new roller rockers be readjusted?
it has ran for 30 mins. now @2000-2300 rpm's. i can let it idle to set the timing and carb after i change the oil right?
thanks

I had to reset my rockers after I broke my engine in. I would do it anyway to make sure everything is opening correctly. there should be a tiny gap that you will need to find out how wide the valve top to rocker arm should be set at(thats for a solid cam). for a hydraulic cam i made sure the lifter was on the flat part of the cam and spun the push rod while i tightened down the rocker arm until I felt it get hard to turn(a VERY slight drag) and then I locked the rockers in place (I use poly-locks). and i havent had a problem with them, plus i had a buddy who has been building 600+ hp engines for longer than i have been alive check me over
HOWEVER you may want to let it break in some more, i did atleast, i did about 2 hours at different RPMs.....and use a fan that pushes ALOT if air so you dont over heat. as for worn lobes the only way you will know is to take the cam out of the engine
and always set hydraulic cams when the engine has ran for a bit so the lifters are full of oil
