turning over

i have an 88 trans am 5.0L F and its got a blown head gasket, but i just wanted to start it up today just to hear it run for a few seconds, and when i had a 100% charged battery and it wouldnt turn it over, so i tried another new battery, still didnt work, as soon as i hooked up the battery, it just ran out of juice, so then i took the huge battery out of my dads truck, and got it started, but any idea what the issue is? related to the blown h/g, or somthing else?

It may have been hydro-locked, and/or the coolant has already damaged the bearings so it cannot turn easily. Either of those depend upon how much coolant may have been in a cylinder and/or in the sump.

You may be looking at a significant repair, but at least need to check the condition of the oil. If there are any signs of coolant in the oil, the damage may already be done.
