running rich
maybe you guys can help. I have an 88 iroc 350 tpi that no mater what i do i can't get it to stop running rich. i recently change the the super r am and added a bbk throttle body and and 30lb injectors super ram came with an afpr. it is turned all the way down to 30 psi. now i know alot of you are going to say timing it maybe right i didn't have a time gun when i timed it just turn the dist. til it stopped breaking up when i hit the gas. just tryin to see wut other solutions it maybe cause when i hit the gas know it jerks one of the wheel off the ground so it isn't bogging out and i don't think the timing is that far out of whack. any suggestions.

thanxDefinately fix the timing...this is step 1 to making your car run better if it is running like crap. Make sure to unplug the electronic advance while you are adjusting, and to plug it back in when you are done (black/tan plug that connects to a red bung on the distributor). Make sure you tighten down the hold down bolt as well. If this stays loose, your dizzy will move on you after time and throw your timing off.
Check, check, check, check for vacuum leaks, vacuum lines that arent connected. Get a vacuum pressure gauge and hook it up to see how much vacuum you are pulling. It should pull around 18-20psi...or hg/mm or whatever the measurement for vacuum is. The guage should be self explanitory or at least come with instructions.
When my car was running pig rich, I had a hole in a vacuum line to my MAP sensor, so it was throwing off the fuel/air mixture, so the computer put in more fuel to compensate.
Definately get this fixed ASAP, as bad things start to happen with rich conditions (fouled plugs, clogged catylitic converter, etc)
....
i did this today for the first time....
Try resetting the computer, by disconnecting the battery for a while... and then connect it 30 min later.. start the car and let it idle for about 5 min
is the service engine soon light on
